GMTales sets one cookie, and only while you sign in with Google: a short-lived cookie that carries the handshake between Google and GMTales. It is removed as soon as the sign-in completes.
Staying logged in does not use a cookie. Your sign-in token lives in your browser's local storage, is sent only to GMTales to prove your requests are yours, and is removed when you log out. A few preferences are kept the same way — dark mode, presentation mode, and the campaign you last had open — and never leave your browser.
There are no analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party tracking of any kind. Everything GMTales stores in your browser follows from an action you took, which is why there is no consent banner.
